E-E-A-T and AI Content: How to Rank in 2026
E-E-A-T — Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trust — is how Google's raters think about quality. It isn't a direct ranking factor you can switch on, but it describes the kind of content that ranks. AI-assisted content can score well on it, if you do the work.
Experience
Show that you've actually done the thing. First-hand details — what you tried, what happened, screenshots, numbers — are exactly what raw AI output lacks. Add them.
Expertise
Demonstrate you know the subject: correct terminology, nuance, and the caveats a beginner would miss. Have a knowledgeable person review AI drafts before publishing.
Authoritativeness
Build a clear author identity, link to credible sources, and cover a topic thoroughly rather than publishing thin pages at scale — the "scaled content abuse" Google targets.
Trust
This is the big one. Accurate information, a real About and Contact page, a privacy policy, and no misleading claims. Fact-check every statistic an AI gives you.
Where humanizing fits
Flat, uniform AI prose reads as low-effort, which works against trust. Humanizing the language — and adding your own experience — is what turns an AI draft into content that earns its ranking.
